Silverback Films / Studio Silverback are looking for a versatile, self-motivated, diligent and thorough Technical Assistant to join their Technical / Editorial Support team ASAP.


This full-time position works across all of our Blue-Chip Natural History Productions for Film and TV, as well as our new strand of geopolitical / environmental content for television, social media and theatrical release. It offers a great opportunity to work in a highly experienced technical team and be involved in the production process from acquisition through to delivery.


Job description:

Working alongside experienced Project Leaders in a bustling, always appreciated team, our Technical Assistants play a key role in supporting our productions from initial development of ideas all the way through to release.

The role is full time in our Tech and Editorial department and across ALL the exciting natural history / conservation projects at Silverback Films including work for all the big broadcaster and streamers.

Key responsibilities would be processing and archiving rushes, prep and support for logging and editing and opening and closing edits. Supported by our Project Leads there is the opportunity to prep kit, transfer media, organise uploads, support edits, learn a variety of software from Avid and Da Vinci to Yo-Yotta to CatDV and establish a great understanding of workflow.

Tech assistants work split shifts from 08:00-16:00 or 12:00-20:00 (Rotated weekly) to support our inhouse production work.

Following an established training plan, the successful applicant will get full, on the job, training including for more specific software’s and processes.

Skills and Experience :

This is an entry level role so previous film and television production experience is not required BUT an ability to demonstrate the following is requested.

· Technically minded and keen to learn.

· Interested in a career in the technical, editing and post productions areas of the industry rather than the production management / camera areas

· Attention to detail and ability to organise.

· You will have contact with all in the company so good interpersonal skills are a real plus.

· Able to work within the team.

· Experience of Mac and / or PC is required

· Evidence of any experience in any other post / editorial software (Davinci or Avid for example) could also be useful.



The Offer

· Start date is February 2023

· Contract for 1 year with opportunity to extend and progress.
