We’re delighted to share that Hamza: Strictly Birds of Prey has been nominated for the Royal Television Society 2024 Breakthrough Award.

In our special film, which aired on BBC One in September 2023, we teamed up with wildlife cameraman Hamza Yassin to go in search of his favourite birds of prey – travelling around the UK to find them, and meeting the people who are fighting to protect them.

His journey takes him down south to the Avalon Marshes in Somerset to see marsh harriers and hobbies and all the way up to the Cairngorms National Park to track down osprey and hen harriers. Closer to home, he films a pair of peregrine falcons as they raise their family on a hospital building in urban London and has an unforgettable encounter with a wild tawny owl in a suburban garden.
