Studio Silverback are proud to be content producers for the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), working to raise awareness of the world’s most pressing environmental issues.
In April 2024, we worked with UNEP as part of their ‘Beat Plastic Pollution’ campaign to produce a series of short films to drive conversation as negotiations continue this year to finalise the UN Treaty to end Plastic Pollution.
The films (subtitled for 14 different languages) include historical advertising material to show how the whole world became addicted to plastic. They were released online, on social media and on transport networks across the world.
The films show how plastic has become totally ubiquitous, used in everything from children’s toys and medical equipment to beauty products and airplanes. And while plastic was once hailed as a miracle product, we now know the damage rampant plastic pollution does to ecosystems, the climate, human health and the economy.
