We’re incredibly proud to share that Ocean with David Attenborough has won two awards at the 78th Primetime Emmy Awards. Our National Geographic feature documentary was recognised in two categories celebrating the extraordinary craft behind the film:

Members of the Silverback team joined the ceremony in Los Angeles to celebrate the wins in person. After years of work by an extraordinary international team, it was a very special moment to see Ocean with David Attenborough recognised on the Emmy stage – and to raise a glass together afterwards.

The wins follow six Emmy nominations for Ocean with David Attenborough, spanning documentary filmmaking, cinematography, music, narration and sound.

Directed by Toby Nowlan, Keith Scholey and Colin Butfield, and produced by Toby Nowlan, Ocean with David Attenborough takes audiences on a journey through the planet’s most important habitat, revealing both the wonder of our oceans and the urgent challenges they face.

At the heart of the film is Sir David Attenborough’s message of hope: that while human actions have damaged the ocean, its capacity for recovery is remarkable – if we give it the chance.

The film brought together an extraordinary team of filmmakers, cinematographers, scientists, sound specialists, composers, editors and production teams, working across the globe to tell this story.

These Emmy wins are a wonderful recognition of that collective effort and, in particular, the teams whose exceptional cinematography and sound brought the ocean and its stories to life on screen.
