Jane Hamlin

COO and Director of Production

As Chief Operating Officer and Co-Founder of Silverback Films, Jane is integral to the company’s business planning and operation.  She works with both CEOs to ensure both production and business needs are met and oversees the production deals for the company working with BBC, Netflix, Disney, and many more global partners.

She has worked in the television and film industry for over 30 years across a diverse range of genres including drama, documentary, comedy, light entertainment and commercials.

Jane’s career started in the BBC’s Natural History Unit where she worked initially as a Production Co-ordinator on high-profile wildlife programmes such as ‘Wildlife on One’, ‘The Natural World’ and ‘The Really Wild Show’.  She then worked as a Production Manager for many years before moving into drama production.

In 1996 she left the BBC and until 2010 worked as a freelance First Assistant Director for a variety of National and International broadcasters on many award-winning series including ‘Smack the Pony’,‘Doctors’ and ‘The Six Wives of Henry VIII’.

Jane then formed a successful company with two other First ADs specialising in working on and recruiting for programmes with high-risk elements involving stunt work and adventure/expedition work.

With this background in both location work and business, Jane brought with her a wealth of knowledge which enabled her to work with Keith and Alastair to form and grow Silverback to the company it is today.
