Jeff had already spent a lifetime in the company of African animals across East Africa before joining the BBC Natural History Unit as a biologist and researcher in 2001 on Sir David Attenborough’s Life of Mammals. He then worked on BBC2’s Natural World before joining the team on BBC1/Discovery Landmark series Planet Earth. In 2007 he directed and produced the multi award winning Snow Leopard: Behind the Myth for BBC2/Animal Planet, based in Pakistan, followed BBC1’s seminal polar series Frozen Planet in 2008. Jeff went on to direct the observational documentary A Year in the Wild for BBC2, before again returning to BBC1/Discovery to produce Great Bear Stakeout – a 2 part presenter-led series on Grizzly Bears in Alaska. In 2013 he left the BBC to join Silverback Films and Disneynature’s feature release Monkey Kingdom based in Sri Lanka, after which he directed and produced the “Forests” episode of Netflix’s Our Planet whilst also directing Disneynature’s feature documentary Penguin. Jeff has just finished Series Producing The Mating Game for BBC1, which came out in 2021, directed Polar Bear for Disney+ to be released on April 22nd 2022, and is embarking on a new Series yet to be disclosed.
