Silverback is proud to be celebrating Pride month. Pride Month (1st-30th June) is an inclusive celebration that honours the queer community, their history, achievements, and ongoing struggle for equality.
This annual event is a powerful reminder of the importance of acceptance, diversity, and love. It brings together individuals, organisations, and communities to advocate for LGBTQIA+ rights and celebrate the progress made towards a more inclusive society.
We have our brilliant ‘Pride team’ – with staff volunteering from across Silverback Films and Studio Silverback – organising our activities; from officially taking part in Bristol’s Pride March on Sat 13 July, to staff events such as a film screening and afterwork social, to celebrating and amplifying the voices of our staff from the LGBTQIA+ community.
We’ll also be raising money for our chosen charity Bristol Pride Without Borders. The charity helps LGBTQ+ people live in safety as asylum seekers and new refugees. They meet basic needs, organise queer friendly events, provide weekly support groups, and peer to peer support. Most importantly they carry out casework to support people’s asylum claim based on gender and sexual orientation.
