We’ve been repurposing and donating our old drone equipment for good causes, and as part of this we’ve helped junior members of our team to get flying through an internal drone sale earlier this year.
It gave some of our staff the opportunity to purchase a piece of professional kit for the first time, helping them to develop their skills in new areas.
Silverback donated the £1500 from the sales to 3 wildlife charities, giving £500 each to the Dian Fossey Gorilla fund, Mark Furnell Avon tree-planting in chew valley and the Blue Marine Foundation.
Here’s a message of thanks we received from the Blue Marine Foundation:
“I wanted to drop a line to say a quick hello and introduce myself and share our immense gratitude to you for your generous contributions to our work. Your generosity supports our work in marine protection and restoration, tackling overfishing and damaging activities and supporting low-impact fisheries across the world.”
At Silverback, we are incredibly proud of our charity work and hold regular staff charity events throughout the year. This year we are competing in the Bristol Bears Tag Rugby League, the Dragon Boat race in Bristol Harbour and taking part in an environmental day, working on practical land management and conservation projects for the Avon Wildlife Trust.
We also have regular events such as charity bake sales and clothes swaps to raise money for different causes as nominated by our staff.
