Get a first look at our new BBC One documentary as Hamza Yassin journeys across Kenya in search of some of Africa’s most spectacular – and most threatened – birds of prey.
Hamza: African Birds of Prey airs Sunday 30 August at 7pm on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
In our new natural history film for BBC One and iPlayer, wildlife cameraman and presenter Hamza Yassin travels more than 6,000 kilometres across Kenya on an extraordinary journey to track down, film and understand some of Africa’s most remarkable raptors.
From the vast plains of the Maasai Mara and dramatic escarpments of the Great Rift Valley to Kenya’s coastal forests and remote highlands, Hamza encounters eagles, vultures, owls and other extraordinary birds of prey – while discovering the vital role they play in the ecosystems around them.
Along the way, he meets the scientists, rangers and local communities working to protect these birds and sees first-hand the growing threats they face, from habitat loss and poisoning to expanding infrastructure.
