Our new four-part Netflix documentary series The Dinosaurs took centre stage on The Tonight Show last night, as narrator Morgan Freeman joined host Jimmy Fallon to discuss the highly anticipated series – and unveil an exclusive first look.
Fallon described the project as “phenomenal,” praising what he called “The most realistic animation graphics I’ve ever seen. That is gonna blow your mind when you see it.”
During the segment, Fallon introduced an exclusive clip featuring Ankylosaurus versus Tyrannosaurus rex – a sequence that showcases the cinematic scale, scientific ambition and cutting-edge visual effects that define the series.
About The Dinosaurs
Our new four-part Netflix documentary series, narrated by Morgan Freeman, charts the story of the rise and fall of the dinosaurs – where they came from, why they mattered, how they evolved, and how they met their ultimate fate.
We’ve reunited with executive producer Steven Spielberg, alongside Amblin Entertainment and Industrial Light & Magic (who previously collaborated with us on Life on Our Planet) to bring the age of dinosaurs to life.
The Dinosaurs packs in a deep roster of prehistoric stars and lesser-known species drawn from the latest fossil research. From tiny proto-dinosaurs like Marasuchus to giants such as Plateosaurus and Mamenchisaurus, the series illustrates how dinosaurs evolved across millennia in response to a volatile world.
Armoured icons including Stegosaurus and Ankylosaurus square off against apex predators like Allosaurus and Tyrannosaurus rex, while ocean leviathans from Pliosaurus to Mosasaurs prowl prehistoric seas. Early feathered fliers such as Anchiornis and Longipteryx point toward the dinosaurs still with us today: birds.
Watch The Dinosaurs, only on Netflix March 6.
