Hamza's Hidden Wild Isles - Silverback Films

Our new 4-part series for BBC One and iPlayer follows wildlife cameraman Hamza Yassin as he reveals hidden wildlife gems from across the four countries of the British Isles.

The natural world is for all of us – if you know how, and where, to look. We filmed with Hamza as he travelled the length and breadth of the British Isles over a year to reveal some of the hidden wildlife, wonder and beauty that plays out right under our noses.

Along the way he’s joined by friends and family, technical experts, conservationists and passionate members of the public, all to help him track down and film some of our most iconic, and most elusive species.

With Hamza’s trademark knowledge, warmth and enthusiasm, he shares tips and advice, encouraging viewers to connect with nature, wherever they are.

You can see wildlife everywhere – if you’re in the middle of a city centre you can see wildlife, in the Hebrides you can see wildlife, if you’re in a cave you can see wildlife. The four episodes will follow nature’s calendar as it unfolds: Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter. We filmed in over 42 spectacular locations across the UK, using the very latest in drone, thermal, infrared, underwater and macro technology, and combining blue-chip cinematography and footage from wildlife camera crews filmed on their local patch.

The series is produced by Silverback Films, following our stand-out success of Hamza: Strictly Birds of Prey. It is presented by Hamza Yassin and co-produced by The Open University and The National Trust. The Series Producer and Director is Laura Howard, the Executive Producer is Alastair Fothergill and the Line Producer is Siobhan Brook.
