Silverback Films marks Pride Month 2026

Silverback Films marked Pride Month with a series of activities celebrating LGBTQ+ communities and raising money for a local charity – supporting Bristol’s Transgender community.

From the start of Pride Month in June through to Bristol Pride in July, our team got involved in a whole range of activities, including a bake sale, a special Pride-themed book club, a lunchtime cinema screening, after-work drinks, and colourful Tie Dye & Tinnies afternoon. We also launched our exclusive in-house Silverback Pride tote bags and a Pride animal pun-themed sticker sale, featuring designs created by one of our talented in-house editors.

As well as creating opportunities to connect, share stories and celebrate our LGBTQ+ colleagues and allies, every activity helped raise money for Trans Aid Bristol. Trans Aid Bristol is a grassroots project supporting trans, non-binary and intersex people in Bristol and the surrounding areas by helping to meet material needs and providing community-led care.

We rounded everything off in the best possible way by joining thousands of people at the Bristol Pride March on the 11th July, joining forces with colleagues from the BBC and Offspring, marching together in support of visibility, equality and inclusion.

A huge thank you to everyone who organised, attended, baked, tie-dyed, bought a tote bag or sticker, donated, and marched with us. We’re proud to be part of a community that champions inclusion, celebrates diversity and supports one another all year round.

And while this year’s Pride celebrations may have officially drawn to a close, our commitment to allyship, inclusion and community continues all year round. The Silverback Pride Committee is already looking forward to bringing people together again later this year through further fundraising events.

About Pride Month

Pride Month is an important moment for visibility, awareness and belonging. It offers an opportunity to celebrate LGBTQ+ identity, recognise the resilience of queer communities, and reaffirm the importance of respect, acceptance and safety for all.

At a time when LGBTQ+ people around the world continue to face discrimination and hostility, Pride remains both a celebration and a reminder of the importance of community. For many queer people, chosen families and support networks play a vital role in creating spaces of care, connection and belonging.
