Hamza Yassin has won his first Royal Television Society (RTS) Award for Presenter for Hamza’s Hidden Wild Isles.
The award recognises Hamza’s outstanding on-screen work in the landmark natural history series, produced by Silverback Films for the BBC, which celebrates the wildlife and landscapes of the UK through Hamza’s unique perspective and deep passion for the natural world.
Unable to attend the ceremony in person, Hamza accepted the award from the field while filming a new project with Silverback Films. In a message recorded on location, he congratulated his fellow nominees and expressed his gratitude to the BBC, the Silverback team, his collaborators and his family.
The win marks a significant moment for both Hamza and the series, which has been widely praised for its warmth, authenticity and fresh approach to natural history storytelling.
We extend our congratulations to Hamza and the entire team behind Hamza’s Hidden Wild Isles on this fantastic and well-deserved achievement.
